In the late 1990s, William S. Hanable directed the Westport Maritime Museum, a former lifeboat station, and developed tours at nearby Grays Harbor Lighthouse. He now manages Northwest Heritage Consultants, specializing in maritime historic preservation projects. Seattle author traces the impact of divorce and a memorable teacher
on a boy as he grows from a fifth-grader to a high-school student.
"Night of the Moon: A Muslim Holiday Story" by Hena Khan,
illustrated by Julie Paschkis (Chronicle, $16.99). A picture book
for children ages 4-8 about Ramadan. Illustrator Paschkis lives in
Seattle.
