About the Author

Susan Moonwriter Pesznecker is a writer, college English teacher, nurse, and hearth Pagan/Druid living in northwestern Oregon. Sue holds a Masters degree in professional writing and loves to read, watch the stars, camp with her wonder poodle, and work in her own biodynamic garden. She is co-founder of the Druid Grove of Two Coasts and the online Ars Viarum Magicarum-A Magical Conservatory and Community. Sue has authored Yule: Rituals, Recipes, & Lore for the Winter Solstice (Llewellyn, 2015); The Magickal Retreat (Llewellyn, 2012); and Crafting Magick with Pen and Ink (Llewellyn, 2009); and is a regular contributor to Llewellyn's almanacs and calendars. It did not occur to her or anyone else to say with what agency she might assume priesthood. The result of this oversight in intention setting is that she is now an itinerant city priestess, well-practiced witch, and somewhat unintentional subversive. Her background includes Wicca, folk witchcraft, conjure, and a whole lot of experience organizing people that don't like knowing that they're organized. Diana splits her time between San Francisco, California, where she co-owns Golden Apple Metaphysical, and southwestern Michigan, where she runs Earth and Sun spiritual coaching with her partner. In between her wanderings she teaches as part of the Magick 101 series for Wicked Grounds Annex in San Francisco, and teaches and reads tarot at Elements Kalamazoo in Michigan. Diana has 25 years' experience as a professional tarot reader and western herbalist and has 29 years' experience as a professional writer. She is also the pet DragonCat to a very ladylike boxer named Nora. Deborah Blake is the author of over a dozen books on modern Witchcraft, including The Little Book of Cat Magic and Everyday Witchcraft, as well as the acclaimed Everyday Witch Tarot and Everyday Witch Oracle. She has also written three paranormal romance and urban fantasy series for Berkley, and her new cozy mystery series launched with Furbidden Fatality in 2021. Deborah lives in a 130-year-old farmhouse in upstate New York with numerous cats who supervise all her activities, both magical and mundane. Carl Neal has been a student of incense since 1977. In 1995 he became a professional incense maker and has avidly researched incense ever since. He eventually set aside his retail incense business and focused on bringing an expanded awareness of incense to everyone who would read or listen. Networking with incense makers and users from around the world has given him a very different view of incense. He is a self-professed incense fanatic who has been lucky enough to learn from a variety of incense makers from North and South America, Asia, and Europe. He has travelled across America leading incense workshops and discussions. He has been a frequent guest at Pagan festivals and gatherings where he spreads his enthusiasm for incense with vigour. A strong supporter of community, Carl loves teaching about incense at all sorts of community events. Carl holds bachelor degrees in History and Sociology. He currently lives in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Western Oregon. Melanie Marquis is the founder of the United Witches global coven and the organizer of Denver Pagans. She has written for Circle, Pentacle, and the American Tarot Association. Melanie's books include Llewellyn's Little Book of Moon Spells, The Witch's Bag of Tricks, A Witch's World of Magick, Beltane, and Lughnasadh. She is the cocreator of the Modern Spellcaster's Tarot and the coauthor of Witchy Mama. Melanie lives in Denver, Colorado. Visit her online at www.MelanieMarquis.com. Kerri Connor is the leader of The Gathering Grove (a family-friendly, earth-based spiritual group) and has been practicing her craft for over thirty-five years. She is the author of several books, including Spells for Tough Times, and her writing has appeared in several Pagan magazines. Kerri is a cancer survivor and holds a Medical Marijuana Card in Illinois where she lives with her husband, son, and a plethora of critters. A graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Kerri earned a BA in Communications. She is working to convert a portion of their land into a spiritual sanctuary.
