About the Author

Brooke Davis grew up in Bellbrae, Victoria, and attempted to write her first novel when she was ten years old. It was genre-busting foray into the inner-workings of a young teenage girl's mind - ANNE OF GREEN GABLES meets THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB meets ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME, MARGARET titled SUMMER SADNESS. Fortunately it remains unfinished, as she quickly realised she didn't know the first thing about sadness, or being a teenager. LOST & FOUND is her first proper novel, and she was lucky to write it as part of a PhD at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. She still lives there (in Perth, not at university), and is sometimes allowed to work at a very nice bookshop nearby. Much to Brooke's surprise, LOST & FOUND proved to be the buzz book of the 2014 London Book Fair and will be published in 26 countries around the world.

Everything about the characters and the writing feels exactly right, and the result is a book that's heartbreaking and funny and brilliant. - HERALD SUN Ultimately powerful exploration of grief from a skillful and original new voice. - KIRKUS REVIEWS Imagine THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMAGE OF HAROLD FRY meets THE ROSIE PROJECT - MARIE CLAIRE This is a story of loss and hope with one of the most vivid casts of characters I've come across. In particular, it is red-wellied, seven-year-old Millie our heart weeps and soars for. A great read with ballsy, brilliant writing. - MATT HAIG, author of THE HUMANS Seven-year-old Millie Bird has lost her mother and, with the help of 82-year-old Agatha Pantha, 87-year-old Karl the Typist, and Manny the store mannequin, she sets out to find her. These curious characters shine from the pages of Brooke Davis' enchanting debut novel ... Lost & Found is a highly entertaining road trip and much, much more. Told with childlike perspective, and bubbling with warmth and humour, it also explores loss, death, love and trust. - WEST AUSTRALIAN Lost & Found expresses heartfelt and profound humanity - The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and Canberra Times a lovely, whimsical story - Good Reading
