Bobby and Sherry Burnette are the founders and directors of Love A Child, Inc. They began their ministry by preaching on street corners, under gospel tents, and in auditoriums and churches. In 1971, they made their first short-term trip to Haiti. Although they continued to minister in many countries, their hearts were drawn to that nation, and they made 400 mission trips there. They moved to Haiti in 1991 and have never looked back. The Burnettes help those living in poverty through a variety of innovative outreaches to children and adults.
Bobby and Sherry Burnette embody "Love is something you do." It's
not just a phrase--it's who they are. Feed My Starving Children has
had the privilege of partnering with Love A Child since 1997. I
have seen Bobby and Sherry's love in action--feeding tens of
thousands of children in Haiti each day. We are honored to work
with those whose love for Jesus and the people of Haiti is
tenacious.

Bobby and Sherry Burnette, founders and directors of Love A Child,
Inc., have been a part of the Christian Television Network for more
than thirty years. It has been a humbling experience for me to
personally visit their mission field. I've watched them bring the
light of Jesus, a future, and a hope to citizens of Haiti who have
known only poverty and despair. If it is indeed true that "love is
something you do," you'll find no finer illustration of this truth
than Bobby and Sherry Burnette.
--Robert D'Andrea, Founder and president, Christian Television
Network (CTN)
I have known Bobby and Sherry Burnette since they were teenagers
and dating. Sherry began coming to our church first. She then met
Bobby at a gospel tent revival and invited him to the Valentine's
Day Banquet at our church. They fell in love...and two years later,
I officiated at their wedding. That's how it all got started! After
their many years of evangelistic work in the United States, the
Lord stirred Bobby and Sherry's hearts to move to the country of
Haiti. They obeyed that call, where God has used them to develop
one of the greatest missionary endeavors in that country, called
"Love A Child." Through the years, I have seen their integrity and
faithfulness to their calling, and we support them 100 percent.
They have given their lives to this work of God, which is unique in
that they live right there in the orphanage with the children, who
look to them as their mother and father. God has worked miracles
through Bobby and has brought him back from death's door many
times. He is truly a man of great vision and great faith! And
without any medical training, God has gifted Sherry to miraculously
know how to treat the sick and dying. Bobby and Sherry still
consider me their "spiritual father," and I have found it a
privilege and an honor to serve on the executive board of Love A
Child for many years--a ministry that touches millions of people
and is known all over the world.
--Pastor Joseph Ronsisvalle, Rockledge Christian Center, Rockledge,
Florida
In the many years that we have known the founders and directors of
Love A Child, Bobby and Sherry Burnette, they have navigated
extreme hardships and have endured political unrest, theft,
gunfire, government turnover, embargoes, epidemics, and a
devastating earthquake. Still, they both continue to befriend the
unlovely, the unwanted, the sick, the dying, the hurting, the
abandoned, and the needy while building schools and churches;
organizing feeding programs, urgent-care centers, and mobile
clinics; founding an orphanage; digging wells; constructing a
marketplace; establishing agricultural/sustainability programs;
building a fire station; installing playgrounds; maintaining a
radio station; and sharing whatever they have with so many other
ministries in Haiti. They continue to rescue and strengthen the
Haitian people--one child, one family, one village at a time. For
those who pray, "Lord, make me a fisher of men for You," Bobby and
Sherry have demonstrated how to do that: If you show people the
love of God by loving them, they will begin to perceive Him. Evie
was introduced to missions with Love A Child on a rickety boat ride
to a leprosy colony, and we can say that the course of our lives
has changed forever by seeing firsthand Bobby and Sherry's "love
evangelism."
--Evie and Mark Ostrander, Senior pastors, Mission Church, Palm
Bay, Florida
When I first traveled to Love a Child's headquarters, met Bobby and
Sherry Burnette, and saw their outreaches, I immediately saw that
they shared our vision of demonstrating the love of God and
alleviating human suffering through practical humanitarian aid as
they ministered to the poorest of the poor in Haiti. After seven
years, we continue to invest in their Jesus Healing Center medical
clinic and their widespread food distribution programs. Daily, they
allow God's love to shine through them in compassionate acts so
that many people may come to know our Savior while receiving
nutritious meals, having quality health care, gaining an education,
being trained for a vocation, and experiencing hope for the first
time in their lives. In Love Is Something You Do, you will travel
with Bobby and Sherry on the "adventure with the Lord" that led
them to the tiny country of Haiti--where the need was the greatest
and where the people stole their hearts.
