Aamir Ahmad, PhD, is a Scientist at the Wayne State University
School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, and the Karmanos
Cancer Institute. He has been a member of leading cancer
organizations such as the American Association for Cancer Reseasrch
and the Union for International Cancer Control. In addition to
serving as a reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed scientific
journals, he is currently a Section Editor for the journal PLoS
ONE, for which he is responsible for policy drafts and the
identification and management of special issues. Dr. Ahmad has
published more than 100 scientific papers and has authored numerous
book chapters. In addition to the current volume Dr. Ahmad served
as the editor of two volumes published by Springer.
Shirish M. Gadgeel, M.D. a Professor in the Department of Oncology
at Karmanos Institute/Wayne State University in Detroit. He is the
co-leader of the Molecular Therapeutics Program of Karmanos Cancer
Institute and the leader of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology
team. Dr. Gadgeel is a member of several professional societies,
including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the
International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. He
currently serves on the Editorial Board of the journals
Cancer and Clinical Lung Cancer. Dr. Gadgeel is a Principal
Investigator of several trials focused on the treatment of Lung
Cancer, and has published more than 80 scientific papers
