David Nash is a Minnesota native who made his first visit to the giant, talking Paul Bunyan in Bemidji, Minnesota, before the age of six. He is an award-winning singer-songwriter, and you can find his first studio recorded album that serves as a companion to the book (also titled The Man in the Pines) anywhere music is streamed. He lives in Wisconsin with his wife and two children, where he works as a pediatric ophthalmologist.
"David Nash artfully, poignantly reimagines Paul Bunyan, breathing new life into the legendary lumberjack with an affecting story anchored in a clear understanding of old time woods work, while aptly engaging contemporary ecological concerns." -James P. Leary, Emeritus Professor of Folklore, University of Wisconsin-Madison
