Born in Coventry, once the heart of the British motor industry, Brian Long is a professional historian with a passion for classic and sporting machinery. A trained mechanical engineer and a long-term owner of both an SL and SLC, he has had a strong connection with Daimler-Benz products for over two decades. Married to Miho and with two children (Louis and Sophie-Mercedes), Brian now lives just outside Tokyo.He has over 70 books published, including many works on German marques.

After a brief general history of the brans, we get the well-known formula of presentation. Fairly many factory and leaflet pictures, but also an insight into the history of origin and evolution. Interesting are the tables of technical data, performances and the difference in successive annual rates. As the back is also a useful index. - Autoliefhebbers. First published in 2010, it is perhaps a measure of its usefulness that this book has now been reprinted. As I said in my original review, it is a comprehensive, well illustrated chronicle of the development, production life, specifications and marketing of these long-lived models - across the globe.
