"In a business environment in which our ability to break through to
new ways of thinking is not only required, it's essential for
survival, Nakai and Schultz have provided the link to understanding
how our thinking is directly related to our healthy and sustained
organizational growth. After reading these ideas, you may never
think the same way again. . . . And that's probably the best
present you could give yourself."
--Don A. Winkler, Chairman and CEO, Motor Credit Corporation
"The current buzz about 'the war for talent' has led to a lot of
talk about people--and yet most organizations continue to treat
people as commodities or as units of capacity. The Mindful
Corporation argues for an alternative way of leading organizations
and business endeavors: one that puts humanity and health at the
center of the equation."
--Mark Nevins, VP Human Resources and Professional Development,
Korn/Ferry International
"Business leaders in today's fast-paced, fast-changing economy are
desperately seeking ways to have their people be more creative,
more productive, and have them stay for more than a few months. The
people, meanwhile, are seeking greater satisfaction in their work,
greater fulfillment in themselves. In The Mindful Corporation,
Nakai and Schultz explore a shift in mindset that gets everyone
where they want to be. A thoughtful, provocative, and
elegantly-written book, The Mindful Corporation is a gift for
businesspeople who want to succeed in the twenty-first century,
provided they have the courage to open their minds."
--Roger Lewin and Birute Regine, authors of The Soul at Work:
Embracing Complexity Science for Business Success
"The Mindful Corporation unlocks the power of organizational
awareness, and in doing so, opens up the limitless possibilities
before us. Business has rarely explored the nature of its dynamic
spirit. But what becomes evident in the pages of this book is how
vital that investigation is to the healthy success and prosperity
of our corporations. This should be required reading for every
leader ever overloaded by the complexity of his or her job."
--John Ruch, CEO, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, Regence
BlueShield of Idaho
"In an era of information overload, The Mindful Corporation offers
clarity, composure, and purpose to the overwhelmed and confused
manager. Only to the prepared can serendipity happen. The Mindful
Corporation provides the path to such preparedness."
--Michael Lissack, Director, the Institute for the Study of
Coherence and Emergence
"While the quick fix may provide a Band-Aid to cover our deeper
wounds, The Mindful Corporation offers a remedy that can actually
heal what ails our organizations. It is a powerful and simple
approach for renewing our business and personal health that will
allow us to create a better and more prosperous business
world."
