About the Author

Author Arlee Fairbanks is an artist with a history rich in the authentic Western Experience- a lifetime with horses and cattle, one of four generations of horsewomen. She was born near Forest, Idaho -now a ghost town- and grew up in the Northwest in a family that raised horses and mules. At sixteen she began painting ranch signs, moved on to portraits of horses and cattle, then rodeo scenes, and in the seventies made the rounds of some well-known art shows with her Western Art paintings. Arlee has been a full time artist most of her adult life, and is very well known for her Equine Portraits depicting famous horses, as well as family members and favorite pets. Always a breeder of quality Quarter Horses, this facet of her life is winding down in order to spend more time on her various art projects and writing. Sculpting has become a focus, and she has over twenty-five sculptures ready for finishing in the near future. Montana Sunshine is a story that rings true and authentic. Arlee is a genuine cowgirl that raced horses, barrel raced, learned to trick ride and rope. . .the Rodeo Queen that married the Rodeo Cowboy and raised a family on their Quarter Horse Ranch. Sunny's experiences in the book mirror real life on a Montana ranch, and the story of her coming of age is rich with the details of life in this wonderful part of the world.
