About the Author

Margaret Pullan was born and educated in Canada where she obtained her first degree, a BSc in Biology, from the University of Ottawa. On graduation she travelled to England and obtained a second BSc, in Archaeology and Geological Sciences, at the University of Leeds. Since 1993 she has worked as administrator and archivist for the English Heritage-funded Wharram Percy deserted medieval village post-excavation publication project. She is married to a member of a long-established Leeds business family.
