Always the storyteller at school, Bev Robitai emigrated from England to New Zealand at age 12. After graduation from Canterbury University, a career in photo developing gave her an inside view of countless private lives. She became deeply involved with running amateur theatre in Nelson in the 80s and 90s, producing and staging numerous shows. After moving to Auckland in 1998 she began writing fiction, along with occasional lifestyle articles for Next magazine, and photography and travel articles for magazines in NZ and the US. Bev has written two crime novels - Murder in the Second Row and Eye for an Eye. Murder in the Second Row is set in the Theatre Royal in Nelson and was launched there in June 2010. Bev Robitai currently works as a freelance photographer and writer on Auckland's North Shore.
