About the Author

Hazel Tibbs Hill is the granddaughter of her central character, Amanda Leah Scott. Some, but not all, of the events in the story actually happened. She wrote several novels, as well as children's stories and poetry. In addition to her writing, Hazel was an artist in all mediums, but was best known for her paintings on porcelain. She also instructed others how to work in this difficult medium.
