David Atherton is the winner of "The Great British Bake
Off" 2019. David grew up in a family of five children in North
Yorkshire where his love of cooking was inspired by his mother’s
freshly baked bread and cakes every week. His passion for food led
to a career in healthcare and, alongside his Bake Off achievements,
David works as an international health advisor, spending time in UK
Aid-funded hospitals overseas. His mother’s home cooking and
inspiration from his travels, as well as his knowledge in nutrition
and healthcare, inspire his recipes today.
Harry Woodgate is a children's books illustrator, who has

Lonesome Boy and Little Dog.
As with his previous books David puts exciting, creative twists on
baked goodies that might otherwise seem relatively ordinary and
there are plenty of those in this book, each one clearly
andalluringly illustrated by Harry Woodgate.
