About the Author

Susan Winters Smith, M.A., was born in Norwood, Massachusetts, grew up in Vermont and has lived in Connecticut for most of her adult life, with her husband Stephen. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1965 and the University of Vermont in 1969, later earning a Master's degree from St. Joseph College in West Hartford. She has written stories and poems all of her life, while going to school, raising three children, caring for a handicapped uncle, and working in the fields of Special Education, free-lance Journalism and Social Work. Susan is a member of NWU and CAPA. Her many interests include genealogy, arts and crafts, music, gardening, nature and environmentalism, religion, spirituality and photography. Susan has had articles and poetry published in newspapers and genealogical journals and has facilitated a Christian Writer's group at her church.
