About the Author: The author began her professional career as a teacher and as an educational diagnostician. Subsequently, she received a Ph.D. in School Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, whereupon she continued her work with children, both in her private practice and in major school districts. Now retired, Dr. Palmer draws upon her 32 years of experience in education and psychology to continue to help children by writing books that entertain and teach important life skills. Among Dr. Palmer's published works are her illustrated children's books Ernestina the Ant and Tales from Nestorville. Soon to be published are El Ratón con el Mechón and its English translation The Mouse with Spiky Hair. About the Illustrator: A Noble Heart is Jonathan Brian Salcido's first published work as a book illustrator. He began to show an interest and talent in drawing when he was in the sixth grade. Since then, in addition to taking art courses in school, he has actively pursued additional training experiences and every opportunity to develop his own artistic style. Currently in his second year of college, he is expanding his talents into the realm of video graphics and animation. The result of his collaboration with the author on this book is the telling of a story through a thoughtful pairing of text and illustrations, which reveals this illustrator's sensitivity, not just to the meaning conveyed in the words, but also to the uniqueness of each story character.
