After graduating from Stanford, S. M. Harris spent several years as a property manager and working in an art gallery. When he began volunteering at a Santa Monica theater, it piqued his interest and led him on a new path. He moved to New York and became a playwright. Author of the acclaimed Colleen series, his works have been produced off Broadway, in Spokane, Cincinnati, and Baltimore. The Northeast Quarter is his first novel.
