Reviews

Jeffers, author of Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway ( LJ 2/1/87), explores the problems women have in opening up to and forming good relationships with men. She argues that though the women's movement has benefited women it has also left them and the men in their lives confused about their new roles and new ways of relating. Jeffers's theory is that each woman is responsible for her reactions to what life brings and that by holding up a mirror to herself she can see her behavior and change it to accomplish what she wants. The use of writing exercises and repetitive affirmations are recommended to help women get in touch with their feelings and alter their responses to men. This will be a popular self-help title.-- Marguerite Mroz, Baltimore Cty. P.L.
