Richard L. Stein likes to listen to kids read and he enjoys watching them "color up" the drawings to which they're attracted. So, he naturally enjoys combining a good story along with compelling drawings that the youngsters just can't resist. Teachers enjoy them because they contain all the elements of a good creative story, especially some form of conflict which is embedded to some degree in all such works. Mr. Stein has traveled to many schools and school rooms, using his teaching skills to promote reading, writing, and drawing (with the help of a gifted illustrator) to myriad students during a period approaching twenty years. Prior to that, he instructed in the areas of English, speech, and theater arts. He has also developed and aligned curricula for most subjects available to today's students ( as he states: "from kindergarten to Calculus).
