In my 40 years of full-time ministry, I have come across very few books with the wealth of information that is found in the pages of this book. Stan Newton has written a masterpiece that should be read by every serious student of the Word of God. Most believers today suffer from what I call identity crisis. Believers today do not know who they are, and as a result do not know what they have as an inheritance. I deeply appreciate the Christ-centered message of this book. After all, He is the centerpiece of all creation. Apostle Paul said in the book of Galatians that the promise of inheritance was not made to seeds as of many, but to one seed, and to thy seed, which is Christ. And if you be Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. Do not be a victim of religious identity theft and forfeit your inheritance. According to the book of Hebrews, without the death of the testator, the will is not effective. So, He wrapped himself in human flesh and died so you could get what is in the will. But more than that, He got back up from the dead to be the administrator of His own will to make sure we get our inheritance. As you read the pages of this book, your faith should reach out and lay hold of all the promises that God made to Abraham, our father of faith. Lynn Hiles, Th.D., Ph.D. Most of Jesus' teaching, and certainly the teaching of Paul and the other apostles, was rooted in Old Testament scriptures...refreshed, updated, and enhanced by the cross and resurrection of Christ. All of our theology and reading of scripture must be seen covenantally, that is, in light of the covenant of God with his people, and through the finished work of Christ. We know that all scripture referred to in 2 Timothy 3:16 was from the Old Testament scriptures, and what God breathed upon still has life. It must be properly interpreted in light of the full revelation of Christ and all he has accomplished for us through his death, burial, ascension and enthronement. In this insightful book, Our Rich Root, the relevance of the Old Testament scripture for today is dissected and developed from the unique view and style of Dr. Stan Newton. As a professor of bible and theology, he presents his premises with clarity; it is well researched and powerfully presented. As a mission-ary with a pastor's heart, he elucidates the importance of knowing and loving the word of God...the whole word, and he embraces the prophetic proclamations of the Old Testament as vital for our walk in the Lord. This is a good read and it is relevant for today; it is revelatory and brilliantly presented. Stan E. DeKoven, Ph.D. President, Vision International University So many Christians today have no clue what most O.T. prophecies speak about. Thus, we have the emergence of all the "personal revelation" type of interpretations. The book Our Rich Root is so vital because it clearly puts the prophetic words in their proper context - historically, as well as through the eyes of Jesus and His apostles. I had long wondered who could write such a book, and I am more than pleased that it was Dr. Stan Newton. Using sound exegetical, hermeneutical, and eschatological methods of theology, this work is based on a Christo-centric approach. It will challenge your pre-conceived ideas and expand your boundaries. Your vision for God's kingdom will grow and you will be on fire for new exploits as you experience the biblically fulness of what God has prepared for all of us. I warmly recommend this master-piece.
