Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki has published nine books of poetry in Poland, the first eight of which were collected as "Poetry in Place of Earth" (Poezja jako miejsce na ziemi, 2006). His selected poems, entitled "Kamien pelen pokarmy" (Stone Full of Nourishment), was published in 1999. He has received two prestigious prizes in Polish literature -- the Kazimiera Illakowiczowna Prize and the Barbara Sadowska Prize, and has come to be regarded as one of the most outstanding poets of his generation. Dycki juxtaposes archaic and ultra-modern language in his profoundly personal poems. His work has previously appeared in English in the Zephyr anthology "Carnivorous Boy Carnivorous Bird" (O-939010-72-0).

About the Author

Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki (b. 1962, Wolka Krowicka), after graduating in Polish Literature from the Maria Curie-Sklodoska University in Lublin, worked as a schoolteacher. He has published nine collections of poetry in Poland.
