Wren Godfrey (aka Jeanette) was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She attended Western Carolina University before striking out for Key West, working on boats in the Bahamas, and experiencing adventures of alifetime which resulted in her memoir. During her venturesome life, she was a ski instructor, sea kayak guide, inn operator for outdoor enthusiasts, and house flipper for over fifty years. With her sometimes husband and little deaf dog Hopi, she lives in an ancient house in Camden, South Carolina and a log cabin on the shoulder of Mount Mitchell.Visit her website: wrengodfreywriter.com
"Pirate Girl Falls through Beaver Dam is an engaging, compelling
tale of true adventures, a woman's odyssey as she escapes the
confines of a southern upbringing, a near marriage, a broken heart,
and the life of adventure she set out upon to reset her personal
compass. This story begs for the silver screen, and I hope one day
to see it." Richard Folsom, author of Indian Wood, The Pareto
Spread, and The Project "A treasure trove of intrepid adventures
and daring escapades await readers of this freebooten' memoir. Open
this book at your own peril. You may not sleep for nights." E.T.
Baysden, author of Willow Point & Hark the Sound of Clinking
Glasses"Written by plucky Pirate Girl, madcap misadventures and
bold exploits in the wilds of North America run amok in this
non-stop memoir about her lessons in Earth School." Corabel
Shofner, author of Almost Paradise "For me? Well, it was the 70's
when I first met Wren, and she welcomed me into a world I did not
know I was seeking. Draw near and lean in because Pirate Girl is
telling her story--a memoir of real life adventures by an uncaged
woman of undaunted conviction, courage, and storytelling talents."
