If you are considering this book and reading reviews, then CONGRATULATIONS! I applaud you for looking for resources, even if you have a small inkling that you may have a highly sensitive child. I'll cut to the chase, just buy the book. At the very least, it can help any parent address sensitivities in children, and at the most, it can revolutionize the way you care for and bring up a highly sensitive child. They are gifts to the world and their gifts need to be nurtured to maximize their highest potential. Being a highly sensitive person myself, I will also say that reading this book had me wishing that MY parents read it when I was growing up... As a parent and more importantly as a Public Librarian with a focus on teens, I felt this book was a very important read to help me understand best practices for supporting highly sensitive children. I recommend this book for anyone who works in schools or around children. -Cassandra
Right out of the gate, Jonathan gives us exactly what we need to, not only understand what a Highly Sensitive Child (HSC) is, but to clearly understand what we need to do and be in order to be most effective with them.
