Editor Rashelle S. Karp is Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs of Clarion University in Pennsylvania. She was a professor of library science at Clarion for 13 years and also served as Interim Dean of Libraries for four years. Karp is a widely published author and editor of articles and books for both academic and public librarians, and is active in LAMA, RUSA, and ACRL. She earned her doctorate from the School of Library and Information Studies at Florida State University and her master's degree in library science from University of Illinois, Urbana. The Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA), a division of the American Library Association, is an organization that encourages the study of administrative theory for improving the practice of administration in libraries, and for identifying and fostering administrative skill.
