-- from author's preface
"This book does not deal with preaching techniques or with problems
of communication--although I do not doubt that there are methods of
preaching that need to be learned and that communication is vitally
important when the gulf between the church and the secular world is
so wide that few bridges are left between them. What this book is
concerned with are the words used in the New Testament to describe
preachers and the task of preaching."
