The Red ThRead(R) is about learning to teach the body before you while applying the Pilates Method and demystifying the how, where, what, when and why of the work. I want this book to help the Teacher of Pilates as well as the Student of Pilates to build the most solid of Foundations.my goalThe Red Thread(R) exposes the genius of Pilates. Humans learn best by learning the same thing under as many circumstances and situations as possible. Pilates teaches us to engage our Powerhouse in every position, challenging those basic patterns through all planes and combinations of movements. This creates an exercise regime that ad- dresses and prepares us for the functions of everyday living through the most challenging of tasks. The Red Thread(R)allows us to demystify the work and understand the root of each exercise. The concept ofThe Red Thread(R) may be the most important aspect of the work. So, the next time you are challenged by something new in your lesson, or you are training someone and a new exercise exposes an area needing to be strengthened, go back to the Foundation. FindThe Red Thread(R) that runs through the work and enjoy the exercise. Horseback may have a whole new meaning!!!!!I want Students to understand the purpose of an exercise. It can't be changed, or you have changed the Method. I want to show the links between the exercises and the connections throughout. I want to give Students the tool to see the Method and be inspired to seek the truth. I want to inspire critical thinking. Although Pilates is the Art of Control, it is within that control that we find freedom and effortless movement. The control is to set us free, not bind us. I want them to see this method as exercise- correct exercise and not therapy. I think there are many valuable and wonderful offshoots of Pilates, but to me Pilates is the perfect Chocolate Cake. You can have German Chocolate Cake, you can have Raspberry Chocolate Cake or Mocha Chocolate Cake and they all taste amazing- but they aren't the Simple and Perfect Chocolate Cake.Let's eat some Cake!!!
