Jaakko Pallasvuo is a Finnish artist and novelist working in painting, sculpture, video, photography, books, and digital media. He has exhibited his work around the world, from the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City to galleries across North America (Detroit, Chicago, Toronto), South America (Sao Paulo), Europe (Berlin, Paris, London, Milan, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Madrid, Prague, Vienna) and Asia (Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai). His previous graphic novels are Pure Shores and Easy Rider, both by British art book publisher Landfill Editions.
As a multi-disciplinary artist, Pallasvuo is both inspired by and heavily engaged in Internet culture as a source of material, a subject unto itself, and a space to realize his work. Along these lines, his work explores the relationships between identity and virtual self-representation while drawing from ethnographic and anthropological cinema, 80's & 90's culture, and what he's described as generational experiences.
