The latest instalment in the most famous thriller series of them all. Bourne is back, and this time the stakes are higher than ever...
Eric Van Lustbader is the author of numerous novels in a variety of styles, but is most widely known as the author of twenty international bestselling thrillers including The Ninja and Black Heart. Born in New York City, he currently lives in New York State.
This is just like reading a movie: from the opening page the action is bang in your face. It s a great series, healthily maintained by Lustbader who is now well-established as carrying on Robert Ludlum's legacy. - The West AustralianLustbader s famous pacing is in force... He is a slick operator who knows how to keep pages turning. - Sunday Mail Brisbane
Terrorists after a mineral essential to creating a powerful weapon pose only one obstacle for Jason Bourne in Lustbader's sixth tale about the late Ludlum's titular spy. Bourne needs the help of Boris Karpov, but the Russian agent has been ordered to kill his old friend. The headlong action ranges from the mountains of Colombia to Europe and Syria as Bourne battles his way out of one life-threatening situation after another. As is usual with this series, there are so many characters that the intricate plot occasionally becomes a bit muddled. Jeremy Davidson provides an excellent reading, offering his consistently impressive mix of international accents. Unfortunately, corny musical cues providing transitions and underscoring the action sequences distract from Davidson's fine work. Despite this annoyance, Lustbader creates enough excitement to entertain loyal fans of the series. [See Major Audio Releases, LJ 6/1/11.-Ed.]-Michael Adams, CUNY Graduate Ctr. Lib.
