Blaquerna is a text that presents a radical vision. It was written
to inspire societal transformation through the narrative of an
exemplary life. The innovations both in language and in doctrine in
Llull's Art are at the core of Blaquerna. This new translation
makes those innovations available to a new generation of scholars
while maintaining its accessibility to a wider audience. .
Translating Blaquerna is rigorous intellectual work and Hughes has
provided us with a masterful and creative rendering of Llull's
complex and experimental use of language.
