Reviews

"With every successive wave of joy and sorrow, loss and longing, regret and resolve, broken hearts and healing hearts, readers will be swept into this powerful story and its intimately drawn cast of characters... This is a provocative and delightful novel, not to be missed." --George Grant, author of *The Courage and Character of Theodore Roosevelt* and many other titles "A wonderfully written, engaging book. I am amazed at Cindy Marsch's ability to voice each of these characters believably, with light but appropriate use of metaphor, and I enjoyed living in their time." --Cindy Ward Rollins, recipient of the 2016 Russell Kirk Paideia Prize, CiRCE Institute "A poignant and compelling novel that hangs together like a vintage patchwork quilt" --Debbie Young, in her review for the novel being awarded the Awesome Indies Badge of Approval "Upon finishing this book, I can imagine most readers ... will eagerly want to know more about this world, as well as the nameless gravestones that dot the American countryside. Cindy Marsch has brought these forgotten names to light, and for a brief moment, given them center stage as the heroes, rather than the stagehands of history." --Joshua Grasso, Professor of English at East Central University and author of *The Astrologer's Apprentice* and other titles "This is a close-up look at the struggles of real men and [women] who lived in difficult times and difficult places--not sugar-coated or sanitized, but a small celebration of the quiet victories in their lives." --Karen Glass, author of *Consider This: Charlotte Mason and the Classical Tradition*
