About the Author

Yukihiro Matsumoto is the creator of Ruby. "Matz" is a professional programmer who has worked for netlab.co.jp, a Japanese open source company. He now works on Ruby's web support, including the CGI libraries, and the Apache module to embed Ruby, in a project funded by a Japanese public grant. He's released several open source products, including cmail, the emacs-based mail user agent, written entirely in emacs lisp. Ruby is his first piece of software to become known outside of Japan.
