Born in Iowa City, Iowa, Ronald J. Lebeck was raised in Lomax, Illinois and also in Moberly, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and later went to college to earn a degree in Engineering. Being an amateur artist, he eventually tried his hand at writing fiction with two unpublished short stories, "The Hike" and "A Dream of Shadows". With encouragement from his friends, he began writing his first novel, The Sacrifice for Peace, while temporarily out of work in 2011. The project soon grew into becoming a three-part series with the first volume being sub-titled "The Gathering". Mr. Lebeck has three other novels published, "Family Tails - The Story of a Mixed Family in the Genetic Age", "Daggers of Darkness, book-1, Into the Black", and "Tangled Vines" (a side story to "Daggers of Darkness"). Other published books by Mr. Lebeck are two short stories, "The Changed One" and "The Little Mouse and the Old Wolf", and an art book, "The Art of Tangled Vines".
