Nigel Flaxton (pen name) opened three new schools as a head before retiring to concentrate on the hobby he shared with his wife-breeding, showing, and judging dogs, particularly Samoyeds. He judged at championship shows, including Crufts, and also overseas from Finland to New Zealand. He has also written books in different genres: Greetings Noble Sir, is a gently amusing semi-autobiography which comments on the great changes in teaching and learning since the Second World War and is available on Amazon; and Moltation, is a short sci-fi story about the discovery of an amazing means of self-protection and is also available on Amazon.
