"Anne Wallace is an extraordinary writer. Every page comes alive with her sensitivity and compassion as she weaves together the diverse threads of psychology, narrative and poetry with skill and dexterity. This is a masterful work--a must for every woman." -- Aruna Bhargava, Ph.D., Author, When Mountains Speak, Director, Stress Management Programs, CGIT "Using profiles, anecdotes and poetry, Anne Wallace shows how we survive--and transcend--the wounds of childhood. Setting Psychological Boundaries is a wonderful book, sure to be useful to many people." -- Judith Hillman Paterson, Author, Sweet Mystery: A Southern Memoir of Family Alcoholism, Mental Illness and Recovery "Wallace weaves sound psychological insights from researchers and theorists of personality and human development. She shows how pervasive and destructive factors in our society, such as alcoholism and abuse, confound the development of boundaries and foster and perpetuate violence and pathology. This is a significant and important handbook which deserves careful reading." -- Barbara Engler, Author, Personality Theories, an Introduction, Full Senior Professor of Psychology, Union County College "Learning about boundaries, especially from a woman's point of view, has been an essential element in allowing me to cope with the complexities of my family's relationships. I regret that I wasn't aware of all this when my family began 30 years ago!" -- Richard S. Pechter, Chairman, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Financial Services Group

ANNE COPE WALLACE is a teacher, freelance writer, and award-winning poet who lives in Madison, New Jersey.
I enjoyed reading this book not only because it is easy to relate
it to the life of family and friends, but mostly because of the
scattered little gems Wallace dug up and held up to the
light….Wallace, whose grandmother and mother were both writers,
truly has produced something of vaue here.
*Daily Record*
Interweaving poems as well as scholarly research and theories,
Wallace achieves a very readable, helpful work for women in all
walks of life. Using language that is very understandable and
non-scholarly, Wallace shows the reader how to handle problems of
control, conflict, power struggles, and setting limits….This is a
powerful book, one that should be on its way to being a best
seller.
*The Recorder Publishing Co.*
