'This book breaks the silence about sexual abuse of adolescents happening beneath the surface of stable communities... its findings are invaluable to understanding adolescent sexual vulnerability worldwide' - Professor Rebecca J. Cook, University of Toronto, Canada 'A timely book that raises awareness about a problem that has not received adequate attention. It presents the evidence needed for action, based on the rich research of some of the best-qualified researchers in the field' - Professor Mahmoud F. Fathalla, Assiut University, Egypt 'This book is superbly eclectic... Essential reading for all concerned with the welfare of young people in poor countries.' - John Cleland, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine 'A thought-provoking collection that makes the sobering points that neither school nor home is safe for many young people, and that non-consensual sex may be a key to the spread of HIV among adolescents in the developing world' - Anna Glasier, Family Planning and Well Woman Services, Edinburgh 'This work puts flesh on the bones of our ideas about sexual rights without shying away from the conceptual ambiguities, ethical dilemmas and inadequacy of data that currently beset the field.' - Professor Gita Sen, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India
