Ahavah Mauré was born and raised in Ohio where she also attended college; later receiving her MSW from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her desire to be an advocate for at-risk populations and her passion for community engagement led her to serve in the Peace Corps. Ahavah later settled in Peoria, Illinois where she can be found performing at various open mics but has yet to call one home. When asked why she writes, Ahavah responded, "I write because I have life, and one's voice is the salvager of that living. Poetry; raw and untainted, is my way of breathing and is a common song to anyone victim of the burden of love; just a different tune..." Her most recent endeavors include building her business, Ahavah Mauré Projects, LLC, creating new and personalized products, and spearheading her new and emerging talk show, Mics Uncut. With the development of Mics Uncut, Ahavah aimed to provide a platform for underground Artists, Entrepreneurs and Game-Changers.
