James Nixon retired as an A380 Captain after flying for thirty one years - longer than most of his cabin crew have been on the planet, and many of his First Officers. He has returned to a writer's life in Melbourne Australia after living in the Middle East, where he was flying Airbuses with the same carrier for over ten years. Previously, he was flying a VIP Airbus A320 for a Saudi Sheikh based in Bahrain, and before that flew in Vietnam, England, Malta and Australia. As well as all the Airbus A380, he has flown Airbus A320, A321, A330 & A340; Boeing 727, Saab340 and Metroliner; as well as the usual squadron of general aviation aircraft. Prior to becoming a pilot he was a freelance writer and photographer and spent eight years running his own marketing and promotions business. Besides flying and writing, his other great love is photography. "Sleeping For Pilots & Cabin Crew" is his third book, he has just completed his fourth: "The Crash Of MH370".
'Trying to study for the simulator but made the fatal mistake of uploading "Sleeping For Pilots & Cabin Crew" onto my kindle!I cannot put it down and laughing out loud at some anecdotes ... Every shift worker needs this book!'' ... as entertaining as Bill Bryson's books I reckon! '-- C.J. Boeing 777 Captain_________________________________Essential Reading For Aircrew(& anyone else working the backside of the clock)!I gave up a career that I loved, in large part because the night shifts, and subsequent fatigue, were killing me.Had this informative, well researched, and humorous book been available, I might still be flying. -- I.H. (former) A380 Captain_________________________________It is always the original ideas that win with books, and this is one that most people have been waiting for someone to write. It's very well-researched and well-written; deserves to be read. -- Navjot Singh, Author & Photo-Journalist_________________________________
