About the Author

John Herlihy has pursued a duel track career of writing and teaching. As an instructor of academic writing, he has worked for nearly 50 years at universities in Europe, the Middle East, and in Asia. As a writer, he has published nearly 15 books, collections of essays on subjects that range from in-depth travel writing, to articles that explore the spiritual dimensions of the human experience, and finally, selected essays on culture and life-style in today's modern world. He grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated with higher degrees from Boston University and Columbia University in New York City. At present, he works as a professor in academic Writing at Qatar University in Doha.
