About the Author

After working forty years in Entertainment at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, Michelle Cahill retired with the intention to enjoy a life of leisure and study watercolor painting. Fate intervened when she found over 500 pages of seventy-year-old letters to her grandmother from two uncles killed in action in World War II. She never knew these boys-all her life they were silent portraits on the wall. The charming young soldiers finally have a chance to speak through their letters compilation, "Dear Mom: A Family Finds Its Past in World War II Letters Home." After publishing "Dear Mom," Michelle stumbled upon drafts of stories she wrote while volunteering for over 20 years at an animal shelter. Together these stories crafted Michelle's second book, "Tail Wags and Purrs: Happy Pet Adoption Stories." This book showcases uplifting tales of homeless animals that found loving homes through shelters and rescue groups. Once again watercolor lessons took a backseat to writing, her true passion, but painting is still on her bucket list. Michelle shares her Southern California home with chatty Siamese cat Molly, feline cover girl on "Tail Wags," and returns often to Disneyland to shop, dine, enjoy the music, and people-watch.
