About the Author

Charles French is Professor Emeritus of Geoarchaeology and Director of the McBurney Laboratory for Geoarchaeology in the Department of Archaeology, University of Cambridge. He specialises in the analysis and interpretation of buried landscapes using geomorphological and micromorphological techniques, and has been involved in many landscape projects around the world. Chris O.Hunt is Professor in the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool. Reuben Grima is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Conservation and Built Heritage, University of Malta Rowan McLaughlin is a Pathway Fellow at the Hamilton Institute, National University of Ireland, Maynooth,  where he is principal investigator of the IRC-funded project ‘A deep history of Ireland for the Information Age’. Caroline Malone is Emeritus Professor of Prehistory at Queen’s University Belfast. She has undertaken archaeological fieldwork in Malta, Italy and Scotland, and since her first post as Curator of the Alexander Keiller Museum at Avebury, she has maintained a keen interest in ritual monuments in Neolithic Britain and Ireland and written extensively on European prehistory.
