If you like traditional Christmas and you want to know about the rituals around Christmas across the world. If you like Christmas carols and you like Pam's very human and down-to-earth and warm style then you'll enjoy this book. It's very much in time for Christmas. Clare Balding - BBC Radio 2 The Lady interviewed Pam Rhodes. The Lady A personal choice of carols, readings, poems and stories is interspersed with Pam Rhode's thoughts on the season and, above all, on the Christian revelation that lies at it's heart: an attractive variant on the "bedside book". The Church Times A charming collection about the Christmas season to read with a cuppa... Pam Rhodes is known for her cheery disposition and warm empathy... this is a gentle book to enjoy and perhaps to give to friends - especially those who might not share your faith. Christianity Magazine Pam is loved across the nation for her television presenting and charming novels...Her warm manner invites the reader to remember Christmases from years gone by as she explains the history of many of the traditions and carols. Woman Alive Magazine Tidings of Comfort and Joy has classic carols and readings, plus funnies from Gervase Finn Phinn's memoirs and Pam's reflections. Yours Magazine A rich mix of stories, hymns, poems and anecdotes, which truly lives up to its title... a treasure chest. The Methodist Recorder The stories, song lyrics, poems, quotes, memories, Scripture... all come together in a warm and joyful way that gives you pause for reflection on the meaning of Christmas...I found myself moved by inspirational stories, singing carols, laughing at tales, discovering new facts and traditions passed on from generation to generation, and giving thanks for God's goodness...I will be purchasing some copies for Christmas presents, as I know many who will enjoy this lovely book that contains many gifts and blessings. Scatter the Stones Pam Rhodes loved Christmas so much that she decided to write a book about it...she shares funny and touching stories, Bible readings, poems, carols and anecdotes, with the aim of helping readers to reflect upon the festive season and what it means to them. The War Cry I have enjoyed TIDINGS from cover to cover, and it will join the select few books which are read every Christmas with increasing pleasure. I love the mixture of plenty of scripture with 'fun' as well as 'faith' and many things new to me. The bottom of Page 126 has been retold by me many times in the last ten days! I was delighted to find 'Tell Out My Soul' in your book and the very generous personal reference. -- Timothy Dudley-Smith Pam Rhodes There is something to be enjoyed, laughed at, and in the end thought about among these pages, drawn down from all periods. This is the sort of book that will provide cheerful words for the whole year. The Irish Catholic A popular collection of carols, poems, readings and light-hearted reflections on the Christmas story, which will no doubt appeal to many. Ministry Today
