Martin G. Lewis, MD was born in Abertillery, South Wales. His diverse careers in medicine, teaching, and ministry sparked his love of service, culture, travel, and the time necessary for recharging himself body, mind, and spirit. Martin's long-distance walks in Wales fulfill the appreciation for his heart's home and the need to diffuse from the busy demands as physician and church pastor. His experiences have inspired him to write several books including, The Hearts of Elephants and Men, In the Footsteps of Disease, The Call of Africa, and Parallel Lives. Proceeds from book sales have gone to an array of philanthropic mission programs and fundraisers. He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida and is currently working on his Welsh family biography.
