About the Author

Carlene Meredith Cogliati was born and raised in Kansas and is a country girl at heart. Carlene discovered the joy of reading very early and then the delight of creating and sharing stories. She wrote and illustrated her first 'book' at nine years old, binding it with pink yarn. A fourth generation teacher, Carlene has always been delighted by working with children, especially in helping them expand their world, their sense of self, and their ability to express themselves. She enjoys writing and painting and living with her husband and critters in the wooded coastal range of Northern California, close to a very small and wonderful country school, which is near and dear to her heart.
