Valentina Gasperini obtained a PhD in Archaeology from the
University of Bologna in 2010. Her PhD thesis focused on the
history and archaeology of the Fayum region during the New Kingdom.
She was then granted a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at the
University of Bologna, during which she spent six months at the
University of Liverpool as visiting scholar. In 2012 Gasperini was
awarded a Marie Curie Intra European Fellowship which she carried
out at the
University of Liverpool between 2014 and 2016. Her main research
interest is focused on New Kingdom Egyptian and imported pottery,
as well as on interconnections between Egypt and the Eastern
Mediterranean
during the Late Bronze Age. Since May 2017 She has been working as
Project Curator for the Amara West Ceramics at the Department of
Ancient Egypt and Sudan, British Museum.
