Feminist writer and filmmaker Chris Kraus' novel Torpor, originally
published in 2006, is not the festival of negativity we deserved
but the festival of negativity we needed in those -- and these --

Quarterly and So Sad Today to resist the cult of relentless
positivity, cultivating a much-needed counter-aesthetics of
