Horace Ho is a Taiwanese writer and a professor in Comparative Literature at Chinese Culture University in Taipei. His writing has received numerous accolades, including the United Daily News Literature Prize. The Tree Fort on Carnation Lane is his first book to be translated into English. Darryl Sterk has translated numerous short stories by Taiwanese writers for The Taipei Chinese Pen, Asymptote and Pathlight. His novel translation includes Wu Ming-Yi's The Man with the Compound Eyes, and Chang Ying-Tai's The Bear Whispers to Me. He is a professor in Translation and Interpretation at National Taiwan Univerisy. As a scholar he works on the representation of Taiwan's indigenous peoples in film and fiction.
