Four decades of tales from the turf from Australia's leading writer on history and horses, Les Carlyon.
Les Carlyon, author of the critically acclaimed and bestselling GALLIPOLI, was born in northern Victoria in 1942 into a family steeped in horses and racing. He has been editor of the Melbourne Age and editor-in-chief of the Herald and Weekly Times group. He has won the Walkley Award, the Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year Award and the Carlton & United Best Australian Sports Writing Award (three times). He still rides occasionally, but only when no one is looking.
