From 1979 to 1987, Jeff Levenstein was the managing partner of Levenstein and Partners, Chartered Accountants (S.A.). According to a survey conducted by the accounting fraternity at the time, the firm was listed as one of the top 15 firms in South Africa. Edited, project managed, co-authored (accounting chapter) and published "VAT Manual, A Practical Approach--- A Day in the Life of your Business". Sold 8 000 copies and was top of the best selling list for three consecutive months. He was responsible for the initiation, conceptualization and strategic design of the Wingate Group (Wingate). Wingate is acknowledged as the Accountants Bank, and is folklore in SA financial history. The writer has also authored Futures and Hedging Demystified Edition 1 and Futures and Hedging Demystified Edition 2 (5000 copies sold). He founded Regal and was responsible for its business model architecture. He served Regal in the capacity of CEO from inception and also held the chairmanship position for an eighteen month period. Regal "was placed" into curatorship on 27th June 2001, the writers 50th birthday. Arrested in May 2003, however not charged with self enrichment. Convicted in late 2009 (15 year sentence), but received immediate leave to appeal on the basis, that the SA Supreme Court could find differently.
