About the Author

After a formal education in design, Vanessa Gardner Nagel worked as a commercial interior designer for 25 years before taking post-graduate coursework in landscape design. She began her own design firm in 2002. Today, she continues to design gardens and writes and speaks as often as possible about garden design.
