Edith Elizabeth Pollitz has studied and researched William Barret Travis for decades. As a work of historical fantasy fiction, her book will leave the reader with a better understanding--if not appreciation--of a very complex, often overlooked historical figure. Pollitz is an attorney who has worked with the publication of the Florida Statutes for 32 years. She spends much of her free time at creative writing, cooking, gardening, and sewing historical period attire. As a Texas history buff, her travels inevitably find her returning to the Alamo in San Antonio at least once a year. An avid Civil War buff and researcher, she has also written a Civil War novel, Sadly Breathes The Song, and coauthored a biography of Mattie Morgan, wife of Civil War general John Hunt Morgan. Other works include a children's book she wrote and illustrated about a rescued feral cat, "Carrie."
