4 star review- enthralling stuff
*Book for Keeps*
[An] engaging adventure . . . an entertaining and appealing story
in its own right
*Booktrust*
Greatly reminiscent of the estimable Rosemary Sutcliff and Geoffrey
Trease. Wickedly illustrated throughout (with a few very powerful
double page spreads), it’s a gorgeous modern spin on the historical
novel tradition all packaged up with Bradman’s pacey, accessible
prose and some substantial myth and magic
*Did You Ever Stop to Think and Forget to Start Again?*
Whether you are a child or an adult, if you enjoy a thrilling
adventure you’ll enjoy this book.
*TOSTE*
Packed with action, this exciting story is a fascinating insight
into the world of Vikings.
*The Week Junior*
[...] a great length for a class read in years 5 or 6 and beyond.
[...] This story would be a great accompaniment to a Vikings
history unit, allowing teachers to explore both the brutality of
Viking life and elements of Norse Mythology. I prefer this text to
'How to Train Your Dragon' as a more realistic portrayal of Viking
culture.
*Literacy Shed*
“[…] couched in excellent research on the period and brings the
Viking world to life in a vivid and dramatic way.”
